RE : MANAGING A COMPETITIVE EXPORT BUSINESS
We are pleased to invite you to nominate one (1) candidate to attend the training on “Managing a Competitive Export Business” to be held on February 9 – 20, 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand under the auspices of the Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA).
The course objectives are to enable participants to:
· understand the process of putting company on the international stage;
· understand and be able to manage or to train the exporters to manage country’s export business in a competitive way;
· understand the essence of export business, as well as its role in international business;
· understand the legal aspects involved in international transactions;
· increase awareness of the important role trade plays in fostering prosperity; and
· provide practitioners in the field of export promotion with the necessary knowledge and skills to promote export companies.
Session topics to be discussed in the course include: increasing competitiveness of export business, developing export plan, identifying target market, developing export marketing strategy, entering target market, identifying shippers and shipping, planning export financing, understanding the legal side of international trade, and e-business for exporters.
Participants are requested to prepare a country report (to be submitted a week before the departure date) pertaining to the international trade practices including import and export law and regulations of their home country.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
1) Possess, manufacture or produce a bona-fide exportable product or service, or working in exporting field
2) Be university graduates or have equivalent professional experience
3) Have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in a related field
4) Be between 30 and 45 years of age
5) Have a good command of spoken and written English
6) Be physically and mentally healthy to undergo training abroad (can participate in the course for the whole period)
TICA will cover the cost of airfare to and from Thailand, accommodation, and living allowance of the successful candidate/s. It is suggested that each participant should bring some pocket money approximately US$ 60 to cover his/her expenses before the allowance is paid.
Interested parties are requested to submit the following documentary requirements to the PCCI Secretariat (3rd Floor, ECC Bldg., 355 Sen. Gil Puyat Ave., Makati City 1200) strictly in duplicate copies not later than 4:00 p.m. of November 26, 2008:
1. Nomination letter addressed to the PCCI Secretary General, Mr. Crisanto S. Frianeza, indicating the following:
a. the nominee has no pending administrative and criminal charges;
b. the nominee has been conferred a four year degree/course;
c. assurance of utilizing the services of the nominee, if accepted, for a period of not less than two (2) years for every year of scholarship or a fraction thereof not less than two (2) months or as provided under E.O. 367 amending E.O. 129;
d. the salary of the grantee will be paid for while on training and shall be extended other financial privileges pursuant to the abovementioned order
e. once accepted, the nominee will submit to PCCI a brief statement pertaining to his/her training and a copy of training materials after arrival to the Philippines.
2. Certified copy of Service Record
3. Certified copy of the Statement of Actual Duties and Responsibilities
(A nominee must hold a permanent appointment and/or have rendered at least two (2) years of service with his/her current employer.)
4. Photocopy of Transcript of Academic Records (i.e. bachelor’s degree)
5. Photocopy of College Diploma
6. Certification that the nominee has no other pending local or foreign scholarship nominations and/or service obligation from previous training/s attended
7. Certification of Non-Withdrawal
8. Performance Rating for two (2) consecutive semesters
9. Updated bio-data/resume with list of local/foreign trainings attended (with certificates of trainings)
The selected nominee will be required to report for a personal interview with TESDA – Foreign Scholarship Training Program (TESDA-FSTP) on December 11, 2008, Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
