23RD CONFERENCE OF THE CONFEDERATION OF ASIA
PACIFIC CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (CACCI), Yokohama City, Japan / 31 May – 01 June 2009
Following the 22nd CACCI Conference hosted by PCCI last October 2008, this years conference will be hosted by the Yokohama Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 31 May – 01 June 2009. This year’s gathering is made significant as it coincides with the 150th Anniversary of the opening of the Port of Yokohama, one of the largest international trading ports of Japan. CACCI delegates will participate in the Commemorative Ceremony which will take place in the morning of 31 May. Around 4,000 guests – including the Japanese Imperial Family – are expected to attend this important event.
The Conference will focus on the theme, “Getting Back on Track: Solving Economic Problems and Rejuvenating Business Growth.” Eminent speakers will be invited to address the current economic and financial turmoil and discuss what the private sector and government can do to support businesses – especially SMEs – and enable them to survive the ongoing crisis. Just like the previous years, there will be breakout sessions on women enterpreneurship, tourism, textiles and garments, ICT, chemicals, SME development and youth enterprenuership.
We enjoin you to participate in this yearly event of CACCI as it not only provide a platform for listening to issues but allows every delegate to network and interact with businessmen not only from Japan but also from its 27 member-countries in the Asia Pacific region - Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Georgia, Mongolia, Russia and Uzbekistan.
As there will be special arrangements for CACCI delegates attending the Official Opening Ceremony of the 150th Anniversary of the Yokohama Port, registration forms must be sent on or before Tuesday, 31 March 2009 to the host’s designated travel agency.
